Premier League: Everton 1-2 Luton - Rob Edwards Happy Hatters' deservedly earned their first top flight victory in more than 30 years on Saturday.

The Kenilworth Road outfit beat the struggling Merseyside giants at Goodison Park to seal a memorable triumph against Sean Dyche's side.

In a heartening moment, popular Luton defender Tom Lockyer grabbed the opening goal on 24 minutes - a mere four months after he collapsed during the club's Play-off victory over Coventry City at Wembley back in May.

The hardy visitors doubled their lead seven minutes later when Carlton Morris grabbed the second to make it 2-0.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin pulled a goal back for the embattled Toffees in the second half, but Edwards' side showed great character - as they have done all season - to hold out for a deserved triumph.

Speaking after the match, a delighted Edwards told the BBC: "I'm just very, very proud of the players and pleased for the club," he said.

"I know it's a big moment, I get that. I don't want this to come across in any kind of arrogant way but I expected us to [win] today, I really did. I told the boys before the game, 'I know this is going to be a good day'.

"We really believed we could come here and win the game. We had a really good plan."
