Stevenage were narrow 1-0 victors against Doncaster at the Eco-Power Stadium courtesy of a Jordan Roberts first half header.

Boro rode their luck as they left South Yorkshire with all three points as their opposition wasted numerous chances to equalise, and retain second spot in the table.

Stevenage:

Ashby-Hammond: 5.5- Relatively nervy from crosses, improved kicking, could do better with his commanding of his penalty area

Wildin: 5- Struggled to stop crosses into the box, booked for a silly challenge in the first half, was stuck in his own half most of the game so didn't make any ventures forward

Vancooten: 6- Solid in the challenge, nearly got caught out a couple of times but recovered well, helped push the team forward

Sweeney: 6.5- Put his body on the line for the team, composed on the ball with some good passes under pressure

Clark: 4- Looked shaky and got beat to the by-line too many times in the first half, often caught out of position and looked leggy, very poor game

Reeves: 5.5- He makes the team tick, controlled the centre of the pitch but struggled with the physicality of the game

Read: 5- Couldn't match the pace of the game at times, swung some good balls into the box, superb assist for Roberts' goal 

Gilbey: 6.5- Protected his backline well with some key challenges, superb link up play with the midfield and frontline, a creative spark

Rose: 5.5- Won all his aerial duels, caused the Doncaster defence issues all game with his direct running and brilliant leap

Reid: 5- With improved composure he could've had two goals minimum, his final pass could do with some work as well, worked hard but with little reward

Roberts: 5.5- Good header to open the scoring, worked very hard but never really got into the right positions apart from his goal
