Stevenage claimed a first win in nine games as they battled to a 3-1 victory against Walsall at The Lamex on Saturday.

Two goals in the first eight minutes courtesy of an own goal by the Saddlers' Rollin Menayese, a Chris Lines header and a Jake Taylor goal in added time were enough for victory battling Boro.

Pym: 6- Excellent kicking, a little nervy from crosses but overall good debut

O'Neill: 6- Impressive debut, up and down the line all game, good balls into the box,

Cuthbert: 6.5- Led the line well, some brilliant headers and tackles kept the attackers at bay

Prosser: 6- Competent defending, looked a little off the page but did what was needed of him

Coker: 5.5- Goos balls down the line, battled well

Bostwick: 6.5- Some brilliant recovery challenges, controlled the midfield until his injury

Lines: 6.5- Good composure for his goal, spread some exquisite balls out wide, a classy midfielder

Reeves: 6- Wanted to drive forward with the ball at every opportunity, tenacious and battled well

Andrade: 6- Looked like a new man, energetic, keen to win the ball back and wanted to take his man on

Taylor: 7- Worked well in his new role, looked lively in the attacking third and tracked back well to tuck in to do his defensive duties

Norris: 6.5- Won his aerial duels, a constant menace to the Walsall defence, good feet in tight areas
