It's not often a football club signs a chart topping-star but that's exactly what Hitchin Town have done!

The Canaries have signed Harley Sule, one half of Rizzle Kicks, who headed the hit parade in 2011.

Harvey, full name, Harley 'Sylvester' Alexander-Sule, put pen to paper on a deal with the Top Field outfit on Friday, after impressing in a 5-0 win over Harpenden Town in a pre-season friendly back in August.

Defender Harvey, 28, also turned out in a low-key friendly between Mark Burke's squad on Wednesday as the club bowed out before lockdown.

The club announced the signing on Friday, in a move sure to delight many of the Rizzle Kicks' 1.1m Twitter followers.

"We're pleased to announce the signing of defender Harley Sule after a successful trial period and making an excellent impression with boss Mark Burke," said the club in a statement.

"You might recognise Harley as one half of

@RizzleKicks but is now a popular solo artist. Welcome, Harley!"

Rizzle Kicks built up a string of hit songs such as Mama Do The Hump, Down With The Trumpets, Lost Generation and scored a UK Official Singles Chart Number 1 in conjunction with Olly Murs on his Heart Skips A Beat in 2011.

In their 2013 single, 'Skip to the Good Bit', which sampled EMF's 'Unbelievable' as the baseline, Harley sung: "I want to be fit - but I don't like running."

Judging by his all-action performances for the Canaries since then, the talented defender has changed his tune.
