Stevenage Football Club have announced Dean Wilkins will be joining the club as assistant manager.

Wilkins served as an assistant manager and a manager during a decade's service at Brighton, moving on to spend four years as assistant boss at Southampton.

He worked with Alan Pardew and Nigel Adkins and was part of the Saints management team that won consecutive promotions from League One to the Premier League.

Wilkins was then part of the management team with Adkins that later moved on to Reading and then Sheffield United until 2016, when Chris Wilder took over the Blades.

Wilkins brings a wealth of managerial experience to the Club and is recognised as an outstanding coach, holding a UEFA A licence for almost 20 years and a UEFA Pro licence for almost 10 years.

Stevenage boss Alex Revell said: "Dean is not only a top coach but his experience as an assistant manager and manager over 400 odd games will be invaluable to us.

"I played for him at Brighton and saw first hand how he can develop players and a winning team. I am delighted to have him with me every day to help us restructure our team and start delivering the results we all want to see."

Dean will join up the Stevenage squad following Covid clearance.
