Stevenage return to league action at The Lamex on Saturday against Walsall after three tough away games.

Alex Revell's side will be looking to build on three points midweek against Crawley after an Elliot Osborne wonder strike and a David Stockdale's 90th minute penalty save.

Form

Boro come into the game in good form, with only three losses in twelve League games since Boxing Day.

Their last five games have produced two wins, two losses and one share of the spoils. The Hertfordshire outfit currently sit in 21st position, nine points above the relegation places.

Walsall have struggled with consistency of late. Their last five games have resulted in one win, one loss and three draws.

This form sees them sit in 12th place and seven points from the play off places.

Team news

Charlie Carter will be hoping to return to the squad after missing the last three games with an ankle injury. Jack Roles will be looking to retain his place after an impressive debut on Tuesday.

Head to Head

The two teams have met eight times in league football, with both clubs victorious on two occasions and four games have resulted in a draw.

The last time the teams met in December 2020, the spoils were shared in a 1-1 draw.

Danger Men

Boro fans will remember Elijah Adebayo's brief spell at the club on loan from Fulham. The striker was Walsall's top scorer before he was sold to championship side Huddersfield.

He had netted 10 goals before departing with Caolan Lavery netting five and Josh Gordon hitting four goals.

Alex Revell previews the game

"I like Walsall, they're a good side and on their day, they've got some real attacking threat, so we've got to make sure we're ready for those."

We're full of confidence and the players know they've got to work hard and we know there's a lot to work on.

"Ultimately, we can go into games knowing that the desire and togetherness is there and if we add just a bit of quality each game then we know that the results will hopefully keep improving."
