Stevenage Football Club have signed defender Carl Piergianni.

Boro have agreed terms with the 30-year-old centre back, who joins the club after more than 100 EFL appearances to his name, after spells at Salford City and most recently Oldham Athletic where he was captain for the Latics.

"I am delighted to be here", Piergianni told the club after signing. "I am happy to be on board and I'm ready to go for the new season now.

"I will always give 100% commitment, that willingness to die for the shirt and I hope to spur my teammates on to fight to win every game. I am looking forward to meeting the supporters and getting started."

Piergianni played a big part in helping doomed Oldham to a 1-0 victory at the Lamex in early April, with Evans impressed by the defenders rugged commitment.

The move comes after goalkeeper Aaron Chapman agreed terms with the Lamex outfit as boss Steve Evans continues to rebuild.

The 31-year-old stopper arrives in North Herts and joins up with former boss Evans for the third time in his career following spells at Gillingham and Peterborough United.

"I'm happy to be here", said Chapman. "I have signed for the manager three times now because he creates atmospheres and squads that I want to be a part of. I will give it my all, the supporters will see that I am passionate and that I have come here to win games".

Stevenage have also confirmed the signing of Michael Bostwick on a permanent contract.

The 34-year-old midfielder was Evans first signing of the summer, following his loan spell at The Lamex Stadium from Burton Albion towards the end of last season.

Bostwick made fourteen appearances for Boro after signing temporarily in January - and played a key part in the club's fight for League Two survival as he added to the 206 appearances the midfielder made during his successful first spell at the club between 2008 to 2012.
