By Eliana Ferraris 24th Oct 2026
Residents at Milford Lodge care home enjoyed a vibrant Glow Party packed with music, fun and colourful entertainment, bringing back treasured memories of the 1980s.
The event transformed the cinema into a lively celebration filled with glowing decorations, glow sticks and specially issued party tickets, creating an exciting atmosphere for everyone involved. Residents, relatives and staff embraced the theme, enjoying a morning of singing, dancing and reminiscing to a soundtrack of classic 80s hits.
The idea for the Glow Party was developed by the Engagement and Wellbeing Team, with Eliana Ferraris leading the planning and organisation. On the day, she was supported by Activity Coordinator Devina Kutowaroo and Carer Lisa Clements, who helped ensure the event ran smoothly and that residents could fully enjoy the experience.
The nostalgic playlist proved a particular highlight, with many residents singing along to favourite songs from their younger years. The glow sticks and party accessories added an extra element of fun, encouraging residents to get involved and celebrate together.
Staff said the event was designed to promote wellbeing, social interaction and meaningful reminiscence, while creating lasting memories for everyone who attended.
The Glow Party was a great success, filling the cinema with laughter, music and glowing smiles, and demonstrating the positive impact that creative activities can have on residents' wellbeing and quality of life.
