Hitchin gears up for Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebrations by flying the flag: See our Nub News Gallery

By Layth Yousif 28th May 2022

As you can see by our pictures, Hitchin is gearing up to celebrate The Queen's Platinum Jubilee by proudly flying the flag.

Community events have been organised across the country to showcase Elizabeth II marking 70 years on the throne – the first, and perhaps the last time in British history a monarch will reach such a milestone.

Market Place is flying large Union Jacks above Waterstones bookstore, while the Rose and Crown pub is sporting a large flag too.

On Redhill Road, Keith Jones the butcher and Days bakery are also hanging out the bunting.

Keith told Hitchin Nub News: "We can't wait to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee next weekend.

"All out customers love our Union Jack bunting."

While Dance and Fancy Dress of Hitchin on Bancroft have also covered their front windows in Union Jacks in honour of the Queen.

Hitchin will have its fair share of events was our community comes together to celebrate as Nub News has previously reported.

As we shared earlier this week, Farley's Hair Emporium on Hermitage Road is displaying its own iconic take on the Queen.

How will you be decorating your shop, office, business or home for The Queen's Platinum Jubilee - we'd love to find out so please do send us your pictures.
