HITCHIN: A Good Samaritan helped in the aftermath of a road traffic accident in our town.

Police were called at just after 515pm on Thursday (March 3) following a road traffic collision in Bedford Road, Hitchin.

Hitchin Nub News understands that two motorcycles were involved and one rider had come off his bike as a result of the incident near to The Angels pub on Bedford Road.

A passer by stopped to assist and ensured the road was not left blocked while officers made their way to the scene.

An eye-witness told Nub News: "I saw a man being treated by paramedics on the pavement next to the traffic lights. He was lying on his back as they tended to him. I hope he is ok."

Officers left the scene by 715pm.
