Celebration has been in the air this week in Hitchin as our town savoured the return of outdoor drinking and dining on Monday.

The centre of town has been busy as Hitchin came back to life after three long lockdowns in 13 months.

As Hitchin Nub News has reported this week gyms, pubs, shops and hair salons have all reopened to the delight of so many.

As lockdown easing continues a popular fixture for many in our town also threw its doors open.

Hitchin's Victoria Pub on Ickleford Road welcomed thirsty punters back on Tuesday.

They posted on their Instagram account: "It felt good to get the gates open once again, to see so many friendly faces and get back to what we do best."

The Vic is open today between midday and 11pm.
