Meet the Conservative candidates for Hitchin North & Hitchin South

What is the background of those candidates running for the Hitchin seats and what's their vision for the town and the surrounding area?
This week Hitchin Nub News spoke to the Conservative candidate for Hitchin North, Michael Goddard and their candidate for Hitchin South, Anthony John-Goodman
HNN - Why are you running for Hitchin North?
MG - "Having lived locally Al my life I've seen first hand the good and bad along with problems facing Hitchin North. Lack of relief road when the railway was built towards Wilbury hills for industrial traffic meaning it goes through our Town. Need for access to Letchworth side of the railway station. Poor infrastructure and traffic often gridlocked"
HNN - Tell us more about yourself?
MG - "Having been born and lived locally all my life bringing my two children up who both attended Hitchin boys and girls schools and running my own business I'm passionate about our lovely town"
HNN - What would you like to see the county council do/do differently?
MG - "I want to fight Hitchin's corner at County Hall and ensure Hitchin wins its fair share of the county councils budget and spend money wisely"
HNN - Tell us how the campaign is going so far?
MG - "The campaign is going very well but residents are somewhat dissatisfied with politics and the current government isn't helping hitting people from all walks of society and especially local businesses. But I would say please get out and vote and let a common sense business minded candidate who's a stalwart for Hitchin fight your corner in the upcoming council elections on Thursday"

HNN - Why are you running for Hitchin South?
Anthony John-Goodman - "I have lived in Hitchin for over 15 years and I understand most issues negatively impacting on the town and it's residents. A lack of good roads and rail infrastructure impacts on traffic, people's health and I want to do something about it."
HNN - Tell us more about yourself?
AJG - "I live in Hitchin with my wife and 2 daughters who go to Hitchin schools. I am a co-founder and a partner in a local accountancy practice and a business advisory firm which I set up with other partners in the town 6 years ago. I derive great joy and fulfilment from helping people and businesses".
HNN - What would you like to see the county council do/do differently?
AJG - "Hertfordshire is a very large county and I want to ensure that Hitchin gets it's fair share of the council resources. Hitchin needs a strong voice and I want to be that such as bringing investments and high paying jobs into Hitchin and many more".
HNN - Tell us how the campaign is going so far?
AJG - "I have had a very positive campaign with lots of engagement with residents who say they very unhappy with the current government and want a candidate who will deliver on their pledges. I am that candidate delivering for people".
