Nub News is the concept that is making journalism and journalists sit up and take notice across the country - but did you know the company also now has a page on LinkedIn?

The company that is revolutionising journalism by providing online local newspapers for towns across the UK is now on the world's largest professional network.

CEO Karl Hancock spent 25 years working for banks in London, including Goldman Sachs, before computer programmer Dean Waghorn pitched him a business idea to 'put your town in your pocket'.

Karl 'absolutely loved it' and promptly presented the concept to City investors - who also 'loved it'.

"We want to make local news easily accessible without intrusive pop-up advertising, enforced surveys or clickbait," said Karl, adding: "We will ensure that our content remains truly local.

"We provide local news, community news, what's on, local business listings, classifieds, jobs, property and obituaries - all the staples of a good local newspaper."

Hitchin Nub News, which started just three short weeks ago, is one of more than 45 established Nub News sites up and down the country - with more to come as the company shakes up local journalism.

Hitchin Nub News regional editor Layth Yousif added: "The feedback we've had from so many people in and around Hitchin has been incredible.

"As someone with around 30,000 connections on LinkedIn I'll certainly be recommending Karl's Nub News page to my cohort and readership."
