Witness appeal following stabbing near to Stevenage FC

Officers are appealing for witnesses and information following a stabbing that took place minutes after the League Two match between Stevenage and Northampton.

At 508pm on Saturday, October 22 following Boro's last minute defeat at the hands of Northampton during an ill-tempered match, police were called to report that a man had been assaulted at the Roaring Meg Retail Park, near Burger King, situated near to Broadhall Way, where Stevenage FC play.

Upon police arrival, the man, aged in his 20s, had already made his own way to hospital where he was treated for a non-life threating stab wound to the upper leg.

PC Max Maguire, who is investigating, said: "I'd like to hear from anyone who was in the area around the time of this incident and witnessed what happened, saw anything suspicious or has information about it to get in touch.

"I can be contacted directly by email via [email protected]
