A Hertfordshire agency that started out with just one client and now boasts a huge and varied portfolio including banks, charities and hospitality venues has celebrated its 10th anniversary.

Founded in 2012, Strand PR has fast become one of the top-rated PR and marketing agencies in the county, recently featuring at number 14 in The Drum's top 50 digital companies of 2022.

Known for its no-nonsense marketing and clear communications, the firm has gone from strength to strength achieving national and regional coverage for many of its clients.

Although there have been many defining moments throughout Strand PR's 10-year journey, Managing Director and Founder Laura Pearce recalls one key achievement which was particularly poignant for her in 2022.

Highly-respected Laura said: "When I started out in 2012 I had just one retaining client on the books which was the Fox & Duck pub in Therfield.

"I hit it off with Ivan the landlord straight away as we shared the same vision, and I'm thrilled to say they've stuck with Strand PR throughout.

"So, imagine how proud I was when it was named Digital Pub of the Year at the Greene King Pub Partners Night of Excellence Awards earlier this year for its social media, which is what we deliver for them. They too were over the moon as it reaffirmed to them that we were the right fit all those years ago.

"I felt it was quite meaningful that our first retaining client should win such a prestigious prize in our 10th year together."

Originally born from a small bedroom in Buntingford, Strand PR's state-of-the-art offices are now nestled within beautiful grounds on the Cokenach Estate. Each member of staff brings a wealth of different skills and experience to the business, and when brought together they achieve astounding results.

Reflecting on the growth of the business, Laura said: "There's no doubt about it, running a business is tough. In a decade of Strand PR, I've steered us through a recession, Brexit and a pandemic. There's been some tough decisions along the way, and it hasn't always been fun, but the negatives far outweigh the benefits.

"I love what I do and I'm fortunate to have a talented, loyal and extremely creative team behind me. I'm also very proud of what we've achieved. Ten years ago, when I set about launching Strand PR, never in my wildest of dreams did I think I would be working with established finance institutions and government agencies securing them national coverage in major publications.

"My strategy has always been to deliver the very best for my clients and if you look at our retention rate and see how many of them stay with Strand PR, then I would say this approach clearly works.

"But, there's no time to stand still. I'm already thinking about the next big project and how we're going to achieve it, which makes me excited for the future and what's to come."

Although based in Hertfordshire and with a strong client base from local organisations, Strand PR has worked with companies across the entire country.

Strand's strengths lie in the relationships it builds with its clients, and prides itself on delivering a personal service, seeking out solutions that larger companies may easily miss due to not knowing what makes each organisation tick.
