Stevenage striker Luke Norris was delighted to grab a late equaliser for his hometown club during the 2-2 draw with Morecambe on Saturday.

The 27-year-old capped a lively performance as Boro earned a point against promotion-chasing Morecambe at the Lamex.

With Morecambe leading through goals from Toumani Diaouraga and Cole Stockton cancelling out an early Elliot List strike for Alex Revell's side, Norris struck to earn a vital point for Boro.

"It feels good," Norris told Nub News after the match, adding, it arrived a bit later than I wanted but it was nice to get us a point today and we could've had all three towards the end but it was nice to get on the scoreboard and to get the point."

In the 72nd minute Norris missed an opportunity to level, but he believed there was one more chance for him to score.

"There's always that saying that there's always one more chance," he said.

"Newts (Newton) came on and battled well and with those looping balls you've just got to generate power and I managed to jump early so the centre half couldn't jump.

"I worked on heading yesterday and it came hand in hand with today so it was nice to see it go in."

The striker will be hoping that he can push on from here and convert his promising performances into goals.

"I think it's always in the back of your mind with certain things, the first ones gone in now and hopefully that's the start."
