Read Owen Rodbard's PLAYER RATINGS after Stevenage drew 1-1 with Walsall at the Lamex on Saturday afternoon.

Elliot List's 70th minute goal drew Boro level after Caolan Lavery put the Saddlers ahead with an early strike against the visitors who had Liam Kinsella sent off on 56 minutes.

The point gives Boro 33 points, a full ten ahead of Barow who occupy 23rd spot in the relegation zone, two in front of rock-bottom Grimsby Town, albeit with the par having three games in hand on Boro.

Stevenage

Jamie Cummings: 6 - Poor mistake for the goal after returning from injury, rarely troubled bar a few low stops which were comfortable

Luther James-Wildin: 5.5 - Some poor deliveries into the box in the first half, struggled against McDonald then Osadebe, failed to make headway down his wing

Terrence Vancooten: 6 - Typical performance from the centre back, solid as ever, looked to play forward, surely destined for a higher level

Luke Prosser: 6 - Solid at the back, commanded his backline well, looked composed on the ball

Ben Coker: 6 – Relatively quiet game for the left back, broke uo play nicely and some good balls down the channel

Elliot Osborne: 7.5 - Impressive on his return to the starting 11, struggled at times but was good to see him get a full 90 under his belt

Tom Pett: 7 - Quietly impressive game and made it scrappy when needed to be, really coming into his own in centre midfield

Chris Lines: 5.5- First half didn't look 'at the races', slowly grew into the game but failed to leave his usual mark, overall poor performance

Jack Aitchinson: 6- Failed to make a huge impact

Elliot List: 8- Constant menace, inches away from the equaliser before forcing a great save from the keeper, energetic presence was a problem for the Walsall defence, brilliant composure and finish for his goal

Luke Norris: 6 - Didn't make a huge impact, chased down loose balls but was denied any clear goalscoring opportunities

Substitutions:

Newton: 6.5

Martin: 6.5

Stevens: 6

……………

Walsall

Roberts: 8.5 - Some top class saves in the first half kept the score 1-0, commanding his backline throughout and was the main reason his side came away with a point. MOTM

Norman: 6.5 - Kept Aitchinson to scraps and made good headway down his wing, professional performance

Melbourne: 6 - Some good challenges and touches kept Osborne and Wildin relatively quiet

Sadler: 6.5 - Defensively solid, comfortable on the ball

Scarr: 6.5 - Won everything in the air and gave the Boro attack no space in the box

Kinsella: 5.5 - Poor challenge for the red card, struggled in a tight midfield battle

Lavery: 7 - Chased down all loose balls and some great pressure for his goal in the 14th second

McDonald: 6.5 - Walsall's best player in the first half before being subbed on 60 minutes, lively performance

Osadebe: 6 - Looked lively all game, carried the ball forward very well, was a menace on the wing

White: 6 - Kept the defensive line tight, did the basics right and won his aerial duels

Vincent: 6 - Rarely got on the ball but looked to take his team forward in possession

Substitutions:

Gordon: 6

Bates: 5.5

Cockerill-Mollett: 5.5
