Plans have been lodged for a 'premium craft beer' tasting room and off licence on Brand Street according to proposals lodged with the council.
The planning application is for for a craft beer tasting room and off-licence at 3 Brand Street, the site of the former TSB and next to Natwest on the corner of High High Street.
Nub News paid a visit to the site in Hitchin town centre on Thursday, as well as studying the application - with 'alcohol sales' requested from 10am to 11pm Monday to Wednesdays, and trading hours called for from 10am to midnight from Thursdays through until Sundays.
While concerns over rowdy behaviour town centre have been played down, with he application insisting: "Noise levels will remain relatively low due to the type of venue. Boisterous behaviour will not be tolerated.
"There will not be any promotions, such as time limited discounts, in order to discourage irresponsible drinking."
According to the application, the business would "meet local demand for use as a craft beer tasting room.
"The venue will be suited to customers who want to enjoy experiencing premium craft beer and a small selection of premium wine and spirits in a safe and respectful environment," it continues.
"Premium packaged alcohol beverages will be offered as an off-licence service."
The tasting room is set to span over two floors, with the ground and first floor both being used.
