Live like a Victorian Child at the British Schools Museum
Join us on Saturday 1st April at 10am to experience a Victorian lesson in our period classroom, try out the chores a Victorian child would have been expected to do, and see how a Victorian family lived with a tour of our Headmaster's House.
Take part in a Victorian Lesson
Meet Victorian-costumed characters such as the Schools Inspector, Headmaster, Mistress, pupils, delivery boy, rag rug maker, the Victorian photographer and hear their stories: each month is different
Children can try brass cleaning, Victorian washing, shoe polishing and more activities
Discover the life of Joseph Lancaster and his revolutionary approach to learning
Explore our Victorian classrooms and Headmaster's House
Pre-booking is essential
£8.00 per person (Children under 5 are free). This event is suitable for all age groups.
Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The Victorian lessons are timed for 1115am

Storytime and Craft at Next Page Books in Hitchin
To celebrate Autism Acceptance Week, come along to Next Page Books for a reading of the fantastic "Through the eyes of me" which is about an Autistic 4 year old girl called Kya.
This book is beautifully written and illustrated and will help develop an understanding of Autism for both children and their families. There will also be an associated craft activity and the opportunity to find out more about Angels and the support we offer.

Hitchin Beer and Cider Festival returns with must-have iconic beer glasses sponsored by Lyndhurst Financial Management
Save the date for one of the highlights of the Hitchin summer social calendar
The brilliant Hitchin Beer and Cider Festival returns to its usual spot near to Old Hale Way.
Since moving from Hitchin Town Hall a few years ago, the community-minded festival will once again take place at King George V Playing Fields next to Hitchin Rugby Club on Thursday, June 15, Friday, June 16 and Saturday, June 17.
The event will boast more than 200 beers, ciders, perries and meads, with a number of sponsors including Lyndhurst Financial Management, whose name and soon-to-be new logo will appear on the festival's must-have iconic beer glasses.

Todd in the Hole
The Todd in the Hole team have been busy making sure this year is their biggest festival yet.
With headliners including Ultimate Coldplay, The Rocket Man – a tribute to Elton John, Supersonic Queen, Judge Jules & Pat Sharp already on the bill they've just released their next wave of announcements for The Woods Stage.
On Saturday festival goers can enjoy music from; The Saboteurs, The Desert Penguins, The Dirty Half Hundred, The Scallywags, Daisy & The Dukes, Meanstreak and Definitely Could be Oasis.
Super Sunday in The Woods will welcome The Arctic Monkeyz, Chasing Mumford, Ska Britannia and Kazabian to Todd for the first time.
With a brand-new Wellness & Wellbeing area and details of the Family Arena still to come, this is shaping up to be a perfect weekend. The camping and glamping offering which includes hot showers, posh loos, great coffee and even morning yoga means family and friends can enjoy the whole festival experience.
