This Girl Can - Hitchin

Join us on Saturday, April 29 to find out about over 20 local sports clubs or physical activity classes happening locally for women and girls. 

Our cubs and classes will have their own stand with some offering tasters and demonstrations, but all with have someone on hand to talk to you about how their club/class works and how YOU can get involved.

The event runs from 10am - 1pm and is totally FREE to attend thanks to funding from the National Lottery. You can pop in for 5 minutes or join us for the whole time. In addition, Hitchin Rugby Club will remain open from 1pm to show the Red Roses v France women's six nations game.

Save the date for one of the highlights of the Hitchin summer social calendar

The brilliant Hitchin Beer and Cider Festival returns to its usual spot near to Old Hale Way. 

Since moving from Hitchin Town Hall a few years ago, the community-minded festival will once again take place at King George V Playing Fields next to Hitchin Rugby Club on Thursday, June 15, Friday, June 16 and Saturday, June 17.

The event will boast more than 200 beers, ciders, perries and meads, with a number of sponsors including Lyndhurst Financial Management, whose name and soon-to-be new logo will appear on the festival's must-have iconic beer glasses.

Todd in the Hole

The Todd in the Hole team have been busy making sure this year is their biggest festival yet. 

With headliners including Ultimate Coldplay, The Rocket Man – a tribute to Elton John, Supersonic Queen, Judge Jules & Pat Sharp already on the bill they've just released their next wave of announcements for The Woods Stage. 

On Saturday festival goers can enjoy music from; The Saboteurs, The Desert Penguins, The Dirty Half Hundred, The Scallywags, Daisy & The Dukes, Meanstreak and Definitely Could be Oasis. 

Super Sunday in The Woods will welcome The Arctic Monkeyz, Chasing Mumford, Ska Britannia and Kazabian to Todd for the first time. 

With a brand-new Wellness & Wellbeing area and details of the Family Arena still to come, this is shaping up to be a perfect weekend. The camping and glamping offering which includes hot showers, posh loos, great coffee and even morning yoga means family and friends can enjoy the whole festival experience.

Lilley Flower Festival in full bloom for Bank holiday weekend

Lilley's famous annual flower festival promises to be a holiday highlight this year as St Peter's Church opens its doors to reveal an interior brimming with stunning displays created by its green-fingered amateur florists.

The theme is Off to the Cinema and there are 21 exhibits. So expect a cornucopia of glorious colours and original ideas – including The Dam Busters, Mrs Harris goes to Paris and Singing in the Rain – filling window sills, choir stall and the chancel.
