Tilehouse Counselling is a charity which provides professional counselling in Hitchin and surrounding areas.
We are a British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) accreditted organisation and work strictly within their ethical framework. We offer a charitable counselling service for young people aged 13 to 18 and for adults with income under £45,000 (proof of income may be required) and can also offer full fee counselling to those earning over £45,000pa.
Our counselling centre is based in central Hitchin and has six comfortable, private counselling rooms. We have rooms that are wheelchair accessible.
Counselling can be short term or ongoing for up to a year. The counselling we provide is integrative, drawing on skills from psychodynamic, person-centred and cognitive behavioural methodologies. We are able to incorporate creative play techniques with our younger clients. The evidence based research of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) shows that counselling increases wellbeing because it explores the root causes for negative feelings. This in turn facilitates understanding and the capacity to move forward positively.
