The Head of Finance & HR works closely with the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees and leads the financial management of the organisation and oversees the HR function. As a member of the senior management team they will play a key role in strategic planning and development, providing insight and analysis to informing decision making.

The role is responsible for the efficient management of the organisation's finances. Leading the Finance team, they will ensure high standards and quality of financial information, and the smooth running of day-to-day operations, reporting and compliance with statutory requirements.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a knowledge and track record in financial management, strategic thinking, and excellent leadership and people management skills. They will have a strong business acumen, analytical skills and the ability to effectively communicate financial insights to a variety of stakeholders, including presenting to the Board.

While candidates will need to demonstrate understanding of procedures and requirements relevant to charity finance, previous experience in the cultural and education sector is not required.

Key details

Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum depending on experience

Location: Benslow Music in Hitchin, with flexible working considered

Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week (part-time considered)

Contract: Permanent
