Herts: One in three care home staff yet to have Covid vaccination

According to a new report 30 per cent of care home staff across Hertfordshire have yet to be vaccinated against Covid.

Latest data, due to be presented to a meeting of Herts County Council's resources and performance cabinet panel on Friday (March 12), will reveal that one in three care home staff in our area have yet to receive the life-saving jab.

However, approximately 70 per cent of the Hertfordshire social care workforce has been vaccinated or has made a booking - while more than 90 per cent of care home residents have had their first vaccination.

"The council is working with NHS colleagues to ensure the social care workforce are offered a vaccination slot and have a range of resources and support available to encourage the workforce to take up the opportunity," says the report.

"Figures are lower in home care and supported living accommodation and these areas are being targeted with NHS colleagues."

The virtual meeting of the county council's resources and performance cabinet panel will be held at 10am on Friday (March 12) and can be viewed here
