Have your say on new junior play at Bancroft Rec in Hitchin town centre

North Herts Council, with the help of landscape architects at Groundwork East, is redesigning the junior play area in Bancroft Recreation Ground in Hitchin and they want to hear from you.

Residents are invited to come along to the park and have your say today, Monday, May 15 between 2-5pm - if you can't attend you can also complete a survey by 28 May.

Councillor Steve Jarvis, Executive Member for Environment and Leisure, said: "We'd like children and families who use the play area and local residents to give us their views on the space including what they like and don't like.

"We want the refurbishment to make the area brighter and safer for children to enjoy."

If you can't make today, there will be another consultation event at the park on Tuesday, June 13, 2-5pm where the new design will be presented.

Catherine Browne, Landscape Architect at Groundwork East, added: "The aim will be to improve the play experience with some new equipment and a considered layout.

"This could include keeping the most popular pieces of equipment, new planting and other play features."
