Tuesday 27th May

Hertfordshire Gardens Trust

Join Hertfordshire Gardens Trust (Registered Charity 1010093) on a visit to see two Suffolk and Essex gardens created in the twentieth century, on Tuesday 27th May. This is a rare opportunity to see the work in progress at Benton End, the Suffolk garden of celebrated artist and plantsman Cedric Morris. The visit will include a tour round the house and garden, which was acquired by The Garden Museum in 2021. Please note the ground is uneven with level changes making the visit unsuitable for people with accessibility or mobility needs.

In the afternoon we will visit award-winning plantswoman Beth Chatto's Plants and Garden.  Beth Chatto started her garden and nursery in the 1960s on an overgrown wasteland of brambles, gravel and boggy ditches, which she transformed into an inspirational informal garden by using plants adapted by nature to thrive in difficult conditions.

Cost: £75 to include travel, morning coffee and garden entrance at Benton End and at Beth Chatto's Plants and Garden. For further details see www.hertsgardenstrust.org.uk Bookings on Eventbrite.
