Forest Care Selection is currently working in partnership with a national care provider, that supports adults with Acquired Brain Injuries and complex Physical Disabilities.
They have a new job opportunity for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join their established good-rated service, based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. This neuro rehab service provides specialist care to individuals with Acquired Brain Injuries and complex care needs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced assessments of patients with complex physical and cognitive needs.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans to address functional deficits and promote independence.
- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and speech therapists.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide clinical supervision and support to junior occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants.
- Oversee the professional development and performance reviews of junior staff.
- Lead and participate in service development projects to improve the quality of care provided.
- Implement and evaluate new treatment approaches and technologies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assessment findings, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- To liaise and communicate with other health and social care professionals and volunteers in the planning and delivery of occupational therapy.
To be considered for this Senior Occupational Therapist role, you will require:
- Diploma/BSC in Occupational Therapy
- Current and valid Registration with Health & Care Professions Council
- Previous experience of working in a similar healthcare setting
- Relevant post graduate training in appropriate speciality
- Ability to work autonomously where required
- The skills and knowledge to be able to confidently assess and manage risk in relation to occupational performance.
- The knowledge and application of therapy assessments and interventions using complex level clinical reasoning.
