Arlesey Town have paid tribute to everyone who helped make the opening of their new clubhouse bar a huge success!

Everyone associated with the club has been working hard behind the scenes to ensure the work was a massive success.

It's been a busy few weeks for all at the New Lamb Meadow, with a brilliant revamp of the Arlesey badge.

Posting on their official Twitter account after Saturday's FA Vase clash with FC Deportivo Galicia, they wrote: "Thank you to everyone who came down to the club today.

"It was great to see some old faces, new faces and some supporters we've not seen for a while.

We've had a brilliant response to the new bar and so pleased you love it, please spread the word to your family and friends."

More than 500 students from Etonbury School entered the competition to design a new badge and after careful deliberation, the club was delighted to choose the winning design by student Emma Martin - whose work was showcased by the club at the weekend.

The progressive club have also been busy reaching out to their local community with a splendid gesture by offering free season tickets to every single person who lives in Arlesey.

Chairman and former Premier League star Dave Kitson said: "As a thank you for the patience that you have shown while we refurbish your clubhouse, the committee and I have decided to issue every single household in Arlesey (2,700) with a free half season ticket running up to December 26.

"These half season tickets will be sent out at the end of September via your copy of Arlesey News Magazine, a free publication that is delivered door to door."

In a further boost to the club, young, in-form striker Archie Sayer has signed a deal that commits him to Arlesey for the rest of the season, after already notching 10 in eight games so far, making him the leading scorer in the division.

Despite losing 3-2 on penalties to Galicia on Saturday after a rip-roaring 4-4 draw in the FA Vase on Saturday, the visitors were generous in their praise of Arlesey after a hard-fought game.

Posting on their official Twitter account, they wrote: "Arlesey Town are a fantastic club with top end facilities."
