.............
Wellington Evans went live in early September, full of expectation and hope, possibly a bit naive.
Four months in and boards are up and around the town.
It's been an incredible honour to take the business from fruition to idea, through to an actual for sale board and a brand.
Many people are talking about our business which has been great and positive.
We feel very confident in what we're offering. It's great to have a track record now which when starting a new business is obviously something you don't have from day one.
We had it as Nick and James when we worked with other people, but now have it as Wellington Evans and have had some great successes.
We're confident that it's working and is something that the market is enjoying.
Exceeding goals
We have exceeded our goals in terms of the number of instructions we got and vendors and buyers that we've helped.
We've had a delightful uptake from local people who know Nick and myself who have become social media super supporters and who like Nub News share our posts and also people stop us in the street and ask us to help them.
We're appraising properties that have yet to come to market. We're very humbled by the response from everyone.
Excellent relationships
Nick has worked with Cala Homes in the past who asked Wellington Evans to help with a site in Arlesey called Arlesey Grange.
That's gone well and we've sold brand new properties for them there. Off the back of this we've also helped Cala sell their part exchange properties.
We've also been working with Barrett Homes which has been successful. It's great to have a such a good relationship with both builders.
The fact these very professional house developers were happy to use us from day one is great and we hope we've fulfilled their expectations and trust.
That has been incredibly helpful to us over our first few months and likewise hopefully we've helped them at a time when the market was slowing down a bit.
Five Star Google reviews
We're delighted that we have a number of five star Google reviews. It's great that we're getting recommendations through that.
We are hugely grateful for all the support we're receiving from our vendors, purchasers and the general public. It's all been very rewarding on a professional and personal basis.
Video library
We are in the middle of a very comprehensive video library to help people understand the different variables that people should consider when buying or selling their property.
How they should be interacting with the agent and what tools they can use, what questions to ask and expectations (what's realistic and what's not).
Those videos are going down very well.
You can see some of them on our previous Nub News articles here and here.
Exciting news
We have some exciting news too - We have employed a new member of staff.
A lady called Helen Badcock, who we have both worked with before.
Helen has worked in the industry for 15+ years, so she is super experienced, very professional and trusted.
This is another indication of how well things are going.
It's great to be in a position, where we're now able to recruit.
Our personal touch
James and I enjoy all aspects of estate agency. Doing everything from start to finish is a dream and we love giving our clients that personal touch.
We make sure we are contactable 24/7 and are here to answer any queries that the people of Hitchin may have about the market, estate agency, the town and if anyone has any suggestions for other videos they would like to see, we'll happily take that on board.
