Herts police officer to face misconduct charges after using position to form relationships while also 'regularly speaking about women in a disrespectful way'

A Hertfordshire Constabulary officer has been accused of using his position to attempt to form relationships with members of the public, according to a police misconduct report.

Police Sergeant Ricki Vaughan was also accused of "regularly" speaking about women in a "disrespectful" way, and will face a misconduct hearing on September 13.

Herts: Donations organised for arrivals from Afghanistan

Volunteers across Hertfordshire have been sorting and preparing items donated by residents to support Afghan families arriving in the county.

Afghanistan arrivees have been housed by many district councils around Hertfordshire, but as yet, none have been taken in by North Herts District Council, which includes Hitchin, owing to 'lack of space'.

Plans deferred for new houses at Codicote pub

Councillors have deferred a decision on plans to build nine homes on the land of a Codicote pub, after concerns were raised about the impact on the village's Conservation Area.

The proposals would have seen the demolition of The Bell Inn's outbuildings, which would be replaced with residential housing.
