An inspirational 11-year-old from Hitchin is off to Wembley for England vs Scotland at Euro 2020 after being nominated to be a ball carrier at the showpiece clash.

Massive football fan James Firth will attend the eagerly-awaited match at the national stadium in recognition of his unstinting efforts caring for his younger brother, Henry, who has complex learning needs.

Litter-pickers in North Herts including Hitchin will now get extra support to help keep their streets and parks free of litter by signing up to 'Adopt an Area'.

North Herts District Council alongside have launched the campaign to support both existing volunteers who have already been litter picking in the district, as well as to appeal for new volunteers to adopt an area and make a real community effort to reduce litter.
