"Royals and Rhymes" a Talk with Royal Historian Robert Lacey

Best-selling historian and author of Queen Elizabeth and Battle of Brothers, Robert Lacey talks about the late Queen Mother and her connection with St Paul's Walden Bury, her childhood home. He'll explore the way she taught the late Queen to read using nursery rhymes and the bible and weave in his new book Nursery Rhymes by exploring the wider importance of nursery rhymes in learning to read.

The event will include time for audience questions and will be followed by a book-signing of Nursery Rhymes. You can pre-order Nursery Rhymes and collect on the night by emailing [email protected], and there will be copies available for purchase on the night. It is a beautifully illustrated hard back, keepsake book £20 which can be signed at the event.

Guests will also have the opportunity to view the special exhibition Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon: Her Childhood in Books, featuring a beautiful selection of books from the Queen Mother's early years, kindly loaned by the Bowes-Lyon family.

Time for talk : 6pm - 7pm including questions, followed by book-signing of Nursery Rhymes.

7pm to 7.30pm cafe open for drinks and refreshments + book signing.
