Spring Concert: A Symphonic Voyage

The concert opens with Ethel Smyth's Overture to The Wreckers, a powerful and dramatic piece that sets the stage with its intense and evocative themes. Next, experience the lively and whimsical charm of Dvoák's Scherzo capriccioso, a delightful work that dances with playful rhythms and vibrant melodies. The evening continues with the haunting beauty and virtuosic brilliance of Sibelius' Violin Concerto in D minor. HSO is delighted to welcome back Eugenie Dalgleish as the soloist for this masterpiece. After the interval, return to Saint-Saëns' majestic Symphony No. 3 in C minor, also known as the 'Organ Symphony', which combines orchestral grandeur with the awe-inspiring power of the organ. This concert promises to be a voyage through some of the most compelling and enchanting works in the orchestral repertoire.
